Privacy Policy

Last updated November 6, 2026

This policy explains what information Phone in Bio (“we,” “us”) collects, why, and what choices you have. It covers our homepage, the client dashboard, and the phone-style sites we host for clients.

Information we collect

From clients

  • Account details: your email, name and password. Passwords are stored scrambled (hashed) by our account provider. We can’t see them.
  • Billing: Stripe handles your card. We receive only your plan status, the card brand, its last four digits and expiry date, and your receipts.
  • Your site content: photos, videos, links, dates and text you add.

From people who fill out our request form

  • Your name, email, phone (optional), social handle, the links you share, and your message. We use these only to reply to you and build your phone.

From fans on a client’s site

  • Sign Up app: your name, email, and optionally your mobile number and city/state. We also save which boxes you ticked, the exact wording you agreed to, and when.
  • Fan camera: any photo you choose to send.

Automatically

  • Basic technical details our hosting provider records, like your browser type and IP address, to keep the service running and secure.
  • To stop spam, we count form submissions per visitor using a scrambled (hashed) version of the IP address. We don’t store the IP itself for this.
  • We don’t use advertising trackers. We use only the cookies needed to keep clients signed in.

How we use it

  • To build, host and show sites.
  • To run accounts and billing, and to send service messages.
  • To reply to requests and support questions.
  • To keep the service secure and stop spam and abuse.
  • To meet legal obligations.

We don’t sell personal information.

Fans: who gets your details

When you sign up on an artist’s or business’s Phone in Bio site, your details go to that client. They can download them and add them to their own email or texting tools. Once that happens, their own privacy policy applies to how they use them. If you ticked the text box, you can reply STOP to any text to opt out. To be removed from a client’s list, contact the client, or contact us and we’ll pass it along and delete it from Phone in Bio.

Photos sent through the fan camera are only shown publicly if the site owner approves them.

Who we share it with

  • Netlify: hosting, sign-in and storage.
  • Stripe: payments.
  • The client whose site you used, for fan sign-ups and photos, as described above.
  • Authorities, if the law requires it or to protect people’s safety or our rights.
  • A buyer or successor, if the business is ever sold or merged.

How long we keep it

We keep client information while the account is active, and fan sign-ups until the client deletes them or their account closes. After an account closes, we may keep information for up to 30 days so it can be exported, then delete it, except where we need to keep records such as receipts by law.

Security

All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). Clients can only see and change their own site and fan list. Card details are handled entirely by Stripe. Uploaded files are checked to make sure they really are photos or videos. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell affected people if a breach puts it at risk.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your personal information. Clients can edit most of it in the dashboard. Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU), you may have additional rights under local law. We won’t treat you differently for using them.

Children

Phone in Bio isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has sent us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy. We’ll change the date at the top, and tell clients about significant changes.
